IMI work closely with the client and a number of other organisations –
- “In Memoriam 2014“, – “In Memoriam 2014 will protect memorials at risk of theft or damage by marking them with SmartWater.” This project provides “SmartWater” free of charge to all war memorial custodians. It is applied to the surface of metal objects on a war memorial. The security liquid has a unique identification code within it which can be traced to the correct owner. SmartWater is visible under ultra violet light showing the object is owned so the police can then trace the correct owner – you. IMI can arrange for the supply and installation of the SmartWater free of charge http://www.inmemoriam2014.org/
- Imperial War Museum, War Memorial Archive – formerly United Kingdom Inventory of War Memorials – “The UK National Inventory of War Memorials is based at the Imperial War Museum and is working to compile a record of all war memorials in the UK and to promote their appreciation, use and preservation.” this organisation has one of the largest records of all the war memorials in the country, IMI work with them to update their records once any works have been carried out by IMI. Free of charge http://www.ukniwm.org.uk/
- War Memorials Trust – “War Memorials Trust works for the protection and conservation of war memorials in the UK”, while IMI do not work in partnership with The War Memorials Trust (the charity does not recommend contractors) all our works are undertaken to a minimum of their working standards/requirements and go well beyond. IMI have undertaken war memorial cleaning where the works have been part funded by War Memorials Trust. http://www.warmemorials.org/
IMI are always looking of other like minded organisations to ensure the long term security and conservation of our National Cenotaphs/War Memorials.
